WHAT ARE THE STEPS FOR JOINING?
STEP 1: PRE-QUALIFICATION
The first step in the process is for you to fill out the PreQual worksheet and submit to the recruiter for review. After review by the recruiter they will respond back with follow up questions or with a date and time to meet face to face. You can find the pre-qualficaiton worksheet on this website
STEP 2: THE APPOINTMENT/INTERVIEW
During this step you will engage with the recruiter to review the answers provided for step 1, in person. You will also take a Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) Score predictor test which will provide an estimate on how well you might do on the actual ASVAB. Additionally, the recruiter will ask a series of questions and answer any questions you may have. If you decide at that appointment/interview that you are ready to join the Air Force, the recruiter may move forward into completing a few forms with you that will get you moving forward to the next steps along with the Casefile. Information about the Casefile can be found on this website.
STEP 3: ASVAB AND PHYSICAL
If you made it to this point, congratulations on deciding that the Air Force is for you!
At the Statesboro Office, you will ASVAB and Physical in one-stop. Meaning that once scheduled, you will depart from the Statesboro office by shuttle and will arrive at Jacksonville, FL Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) to take the ASVAB and Personality Test. Once those tests are completed, you will then stay at a Hotel which is also at no cost to you, for an early morning physical and to finalizing processing. Ultimate goal for step 3 is to DEP in.
STEP 4: DELAYED ENTRY PROGRAM
YOU DID IT!!! You are now qualified for careers in the Air Force and during this time, you will be attending meetings with your recruiter and fellow DEP members to discuss what it is like in the Air Force and to prepare you for Basic Training. On average it take a member 3 to 6 months from the day you DEP in to leave for Air Force Basic Training.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I enlisted in the Air Force in 2003, currently assigned as a Recruiter for the Statesboro area. I have been stationed in New Mexico and South Carolina before ending up in Statesboro. Before becoming a recruiter I was a Vehicle Operator (2T1X1), in a nutshell I provided transportation support for people and cargo whether that was by moving people by bus or providing them a vehicle to utilize and moving cargo by forklifts or tractor-trailers. I like to think that I chose the Air Force and Vehicle Operations chose me; sort of like what happened with becoming a recruiter.
